Restoring Acid-Eroded Teeth with Porcelain Crowns & Veneers
Patient History
This patient wanted to improve the color, shape, and position of her teeth after years of acid erosion had worn away portions of the enamel on her upper front teeth. In addition to changing the appearance of her smile, the loss of tooth structure had affected the natural length and proportions of her teeth.
Treatment
A combination of custom all-ceramic crowns and porcelain veneers was carefully planned to rebuild the worn tooth structure and restore the patient’s smile. The teeth were lengthened to improve their proportions and bite while providing greater support for the lips and facial profile.
After treatment, a custom night guard was fabricated to help protect the natural teeth and new porcelain restorations from nighttime wear.
