Dental Bonding for a Darkened Front Tooth
Patient History
Following an earlier injury and root canal treatment, this patient’s right front tooth gradually darkened. She wanted a brighter, more uniform smile while taking the most conservative approach possible.
Treatment
The patient first whitened her smile, but the root canal-treated tooth did not respond to whitening like the surrounding teeth. Rather than removing healthy tooth structure for a more extensive restoration, direct composite bonding was used to carefully mask the discoloration and match the neighboring teeth.
The procedure required no removal of natural tooth structure and was completed without anesthetic, providing a conservative solution that restored a more even, natural-looking smile.
